HB 114 BRAKE LIGHT LEGISLATION

The Flashing Brake Light bill HB 114 was signed by

Governor Markell June 9, 2016 and is now law.

As I have previously mentioned, this allows the use of aftermarket

products that will automatically flash the brake lights up to five times

when stopping on Motorcycles, Mopeds, and Motorized Scooters.

The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles Motorcycle Operator

Manual advises riders to temporarily flash brake lights when

stopping in order to increase visibility to other motorists.

The idea for this law was addressed to the Delaware Motorcycle

Safety Advisory Committee by ABATE of Delaware.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to the Representatives

and Senators who introduced and sponsored this bill.
