Daniel Albert Breakiron, 58, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by his family. Dan was a devoted fiancé, Pappy, stepfather, son, brother, and friend. He graduated from Christiana High School and worked as a truck driver for many years. Dan enjoyed riding his Harley before his illness, spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren—and cheering on football (“Go Michigan!”).
Dan was known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and the love he had for those around him. He created many lasting memories with family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Ethel Irene Bowser; his fiancé, Virginia L. Ford; stepchildren Christopher Ford Sr. (Kelly), Donald Ford, and Victoria Hurley (Justin); and grandchildren Christopher Ford Jr., Jaydon Challis, Austin Hurley, Brynlee Challis, and Jace Hurley. He is also survived by his siblings Donald Breakiron (Pam), Rosa Carey, Jean Dolinger (Mike), and Dean Breakiron (Nadine); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Breakiron, and brother, Dave Breakiron.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ. Interment will be held privately.
